- Occupational Background: Taught elementary special education for 30 years; teaching situations include early childhood classes, self-contained classes for special needs, MR, ED, blind, physically handicapped, etc. Developed first Life Skills classroom in Rockwall ISD and later initiated Inclusion Program in regular education classes. Received award from State of Texas for Innovative Ideas in Education. In retirement, owned and operated a bed & breakfast in East Texas for six years before moving to Waco and becoming involved in an innovative restaurant, the goal of which was to provide healthy choices for dining out, paired with preparing special meals for independents with dietary needs.
